5” Unmarked “SG” Porringer

The initialed porringers are felt to be of Boston, MA manufacture, circa 1800. This 5” d., crown handle one is unmarked and therefore probably earlier. The initialed porringers had the initials cut into the back plate of the handle mold, therefore one without initials probably was made before the mold was modified. It should be noted that the pewterer could have had two back plates, however this is just conjecture. This porringer is in excellent condition.
