American Pint 18th Century Measure

$450.00

This pint measure is 18th Century American. It has the “A” mark struck to left of upper handle juncture. The “A” mark is thought to mean Amsterdam which was the verification mark used in 18th century New York. The early Dutch influence in New York contributed to the use of Dutch quantitative measurements. Like examples can be seen in #331-333 in our book. It is also felt that the “A” might mean “attested”. The condition is good. It is heavier than a Boardman measure.
