Tall Pewter Lamp by Capen & Molineux

This burning fluid lamp is almost 11” high which is uncommon in lamps. Capen & Molineneux worked in New York City from 1848-1854 and Dorchester, MA from 1844-1847. Under the makers’ mark is the number “17” which is probably the design number. Advance lighting collectors want an example of each number. Capen & Molineneux were very successful as their workmanship and forms were of high quality. The condition is of the finest.
